froze fell

two roads split (uneasily)

we've mentioned the hollow ground before hands held high while jet planes pass
you always ignored the lights and flickers, but they kept you moving on
insistant thump thump thumps on doors locked never grateful hands

there was a night you slept i held you quiet thinking feeling your bones with their own breath
sharp hangers poking through thin shirts, the blades touched my chest

we've seen eachothers eyes, during each and every song
will the memories of certain sounds fade or stay along?

we bundled in the winter hat coat shirt boot
melting snow around the spot we stood and waited for the bus
riding on the most back seat we'd hum sway to their bobbing heads
never eating anything we gush fresh thoughts and blinked wide eyes
for the city that felt alone and cold without
any one but you who sings!

our hands held knuckle tugs made promises and kisses two
